INTERN SPOTLIGHT- YEWANDE- Jagabeauty Makeup School

Intern Spotlight- Yewande!
Yewande (aka sweets), Jagabeauty’s ever enthusiastic student-turned-intern is ever ready to “practice to perfection” on any willing model’s face.
She has come from working as a business developer to following her passion as a Makeup Artist‎ ~this is the wind that fuels her essence. If you could see passion glisten, you’d definitely see it glisten through Yewande’s eyes.
I have on more than one occasion surrendered my face to her beating, because she never fails to glam me up. There was this day after she was done with my makeup I felt like a Narsist! I have never been that vain in all of my life lolzzz! I practically kept looking at the mirror and making several poses like I was being photographed. Òmó I felt like a star. Lol!

Bold Brows Are A Big ‪‎Trend Now! There’s someone whose bold brows I love and envy! Barbara & 1923!
“But why all the buzz about brows? Many attribute it to the “Cara Effect,” a nod to supermodel Cara Delevingne, whose own bushy brows have elevated the look from bland to glam in fashion and pop culture.” read more on Providence Journal

... because we still Remember and we still Believe #bringbackourgirls

I stumbled on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, a dream that can come true for me- to be able to tutor under one of the world's best makeup artist Buntricia Bastian- at the 4 days makeup skills boot-camp in Lagos. So I entered for the "Buntricia's Journey to Nigeria Global Makeup Competition" that will qualify me to go on to the next level.
Entering for the competition, I wanted my submission to be more than just a pretty face. I needed it to be a message, to speak and impact lives but more than anything, to fight for a cause. Recently, 57 Chibok girls escaped from their captors, Boko Haram, who kidnapped over 200 girls and I knew that I had to support this cause.

I wanted to do more than just tweet the #bringbackourgirls but I didn't know how but with this competition, I knew that this was my chance to make a difference and show my support in the way that I know how- Makeup Art. It's 91 days today and some of the girls are still missing. I don't even want to imagine or think of what they are going through or being subjected to. Their lives have been changed forever and as a woman who was once a girl and who has gone through some live challenges not EVEN close to theirs, I pray for healing for their body, their soul and their heart.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~marianne williamson

Teal and Coral Themed: Eye Shadow Application Tutorial by Ngozy Ezeka-Atta

Hello Beautifuls!
So I promised to do a tutorial as often as I can and in response to some questions I received on our Facebook page, I have done two eyeshadow tutorials, I however decided to post this one first.

I hope you’ll find the steps pretty easy to follow. Feel free to use colours of your choice and what is available to you. However take note of my pointers to the really important tools or products I shall be stating, if you really want to get it done like a pro. Have fun!!!
Step 1: Apply an eyeshadow base (use one that is not too creamy or greasy to avoid cracks on your eyelids after shadow application.

Step 2: With a flat eyeshadow brush, apply a teal coloured eyeshadow from the mid-section of your eyelid to the end of your eyelid. Apply in a patting motion so it sits and sets properly on the eyeshadow base.

Step 3: Taking another flat brush (a smaller one), apply any coral or soft orange eyeshadow starting from the inner corner of the eye and extend and blend it slightly into the teal.

Step 4: Apply with an eyeshadow contour brush, a warm purple eyeshadow at the outer corner of the eyes and on the crease. This will also serve as a transition colour. BLEND!!!
